Application and License Requirements
The Board of Psychology is responsible for licensing and regulating psychologists, provisional psychologists and limited license psychologists in Florida. Applicants seeking to be licensed as a psychologist in Florida may apply by Examination or Endorsement. All applicants are required to successfully pass the Florida Laws and Rules Examination in addition to any other requirements for the application method selected.
Continuing Education: Click here for information regarding continuing education requirements for initial licensure. It is also strongly recommended that you review all of the laws and rules regulating this profession.
Exam: The EPPP National Exam is only offered by computer-based testing. Once the Board of Psychology has approved your application, Professional Examination Service (PES) will forward a computer based test (CBT) scan application for you to complete and return to PES. (If you do not provide an e-mail address with your application for licensure, you will receive a scannable application from Professional Examination Services in regard to registration for the EPPP, otherwise you may register online) You will then submit $454.00 to PES when you return the CBT scan application. PES will verify that the CBT scan application is completed correctly and send you an authorization to test (ATT) letter. When you receive the ATT letter, you may contact Prometric and schedule the date and location of your exam. Prometric requires a $65.00 computer based testing fee to be paid directly to Prometric at the time you schedule the examination.
The Florida Laws and Rules Examination is offered by computer based testing.
