Application and License Requirements
The department shall license each applicant who the board certifies meets the requirements outlined in the Licensure Requirements document.
If you are licensed in another state, territory, or jurisdiction of the United States, you must have the license verification form sent directly to the board office from that office that issued the license or certification.
If an applicant fails to complete the application within 12 months of its receipt in the Board office, he or she shall be required to apply again as an initial applicant.

Exam: Once the Board determines your eligibility for the examination, you will be mailed the International License Examination (ILE) application to apply for the Hearing Instrument Dispenser examination, which is administered by the International Hearing Society.
The examination fee is $195.00 and should be mailed to ILE with your completed ILE application.
The ILE is a "practice-oriented" written examination which tests competency in five areas: 1) Assess Presenting Problem and Needs; 2) Test and Analyze Hearing; 3) Prescribe and Analyze Hearing; 4) Fit, Adjust and Service Hearing Aid; and 5) Education and Maintain Professional Relations.| MISSION: | To protect and promote the health of all residents and visitors in the state through organized state |
