2012 Legislative Change Requiring Building Department Permits:

Where do I send my pool plans?

House Bill 1263 became law on April 27 when Governor Scott signed it. This changes the requirements of Chapter 514, FS, and mandates that Florida's County and City Building Departments are now responsible for reviewing applications and issuing construction permits for public swimming pools under the Florida Building Code.

This public pool and bathing place rule revision was published in the Florida Administrative Weekly as the public hearing version on October 24, 2008.  The hearing was held on December 2, 2008.  A Notice of Change was published April 10, 2009.
