How do I know if my septic tank system needs to be evaluated?

A new law passed in 2012 (HB 1263) changes the law related to when to have your septic system evaluated. The law gives local governments the choice on whether or not to adopt an evaluation program for their area. Learn more about how this may affect you here.

Protecting your health is the primary, positive result from properly designed, installed, and maintained onsite sewage systems. Florida's 2.67 million systems serve over one-third of the population. County-level offices provide cost-effective, face-to-face service to the public, local building departments, and contractors. Florida is nationally recognized as a leader in onsite sewage program management and research.
